Universe, you never get me anything!
by Nanci Bradley
People, myself included, often talk about synchronicity, about noticing the little gifts the universe gives you every single day. But sometimes, we might go through a dry patch. A period of time when there seems to be no communication and gifts from the universe anywhere within your life.
At times like these, there are probably still little things that you may not be noticing as much – your favourite flower popping up when you least expect, a string of green lights on your drive home from work, bumping into an old friend. But despite the little mini-presents you receive, these periods can still seem very barren. It can feel like you have been left on your own.
I’ll be honest, I had never really experienced this before outside of my angsty teenage years. I have always felt that the universe is with me every step, there have always been little synchronicities in my life for me to feel joy, excitement and gratitude about. And I still know that I am watched over and loved, but lately it feels like it is coming from a much less communicative source.
But luckily for me, I often book myself into fun, spiritual experiences. And recently, my experience in a Past Life Sound Bath by Healing Inside Out helped me realise why I have been feeling so disconnected from Higher Realms.
The Issue
There could be a few issues that might be creating a perceived distance between yourself and Source. But the main one is no space for possibility in your life.
In my case, my schedule has become fully packed and precariously balanced. There is no real time for spontaneity, for something new to appear in my life. Almost every minute of my day is accounted for by something, whether it is productive or self love based.
If every spot in your life is filled, where is the space for a spontaneous gift from the Universe?
When there is no space for the unknown, for potential, how can you expect any synchronicities to arise?
The Remedy
Luckily, there are a few easy ways to make changes and invite the Universe to show its presence again.
The first is to let go of an element in your life that no longer serves you. By letting go of some aspect of your life that you don’t really need (as long as it isn’t self love – I know you may think you don’t need it, but please persist anyway), you are creating a gap in your life that can be filled with something amazing.
However, this may not be possible for some people at this moment, whether they are not ready to let go yet or everything in their life is necessary for now. So there are a few other options.
The second is meditation. Meditating regularly helps maintain your connection to your Higher Self and the Universe, even if you don’t feel that connection yet. By practicing regularly, you strengthen that connection so that one day you will be able to feel it fully – in meditation and in life.
Finally, you can ask for signs from the Universe. When you are feeling alone and disconnected, ask for a sign that you are still being looked after. Remember that it can take time to materialise and be on the lookout for it. And when it does arrive, I invite you to send gratitude for the sign, for your Higher Self and for the Universe as the frequency of gratitude attracts some truly wonderful things into your life.
Conclusion
Life can get filled to the brim with the physical aspects of the world sometimes. And when it does, the distance from the Universe can feel endless. With a fully packed schedule, the lack of space for possibility can make it difficult for Higher Realms to slip in something amazing into your day – not impossible, but difficult.
So begin to make space for the spiritual back into your life – either by reducing your load, meditating or asking for signs of connection. The Universe is always closer than you can imagine and is always willing to reach out.
